EDMONTON MEETING BULLETIN
From Charlie Holbrow, AAPT Executive Officer:
Dear Friends and Fellow Members of AAPT,
Summer Meeting deadlines are getting closer. The Edmonton meeting is going to be memorable, so look at the information about early registration on the website and make sure you don't miss out on anything. Early registration will make things less hectic at this busy time of year, as well as less expensive, so check out the details. You can simplify our
arrival at the meeting and have more time to spend on the important things while you are there.
What are those important things?
The meeting schedule is packed with activities that will refresh your physics and tune you in to the latest in
teaching. In addition, the parks in this part of the world are great places to fish, hike, explore, and admire the bison and the birds. Sign up for the tour of Edmonton's state-of-the-art National Institute of Nanotechnology (NINT), or take a look at the net zero energy home that generates all its own heat and electricity, even at this northern latitude. And then there's the worlds biggest shopping mall.
Some people say the nicest thing about Edmonton is the long evenings. We could meet under the stars, except that I hear it is still light at 11:00 p.m. See you there.
Sincerely,
Charlie
